In Apple Recruitment corporate video they are trying to make people that
are going to work there feel like they are going to be needed there, that their
job is going to be very important and that they will be a part of making the
best products ever. The video takes us through Apple’s engineering labs, let’s
us see how the Apple website team examines web pages, discusses the back story
on Apple’s work on new battery chemistry, tells the true, and interesting
back story on the creation of the iPad 2′s Smart Cover, etc. They are also
trying to tell people that they try to make every product they make better and
make their products the best quality. In this corporate video they are talking
about team work, and how much potential they have, also how every product involves
everybody in the company to be made. In Apple Recruitment corporate video they
interview a lot of people, they are talking about their company and their jobs,
it's not scripted because you can tell people are talking about their jobs and
passion, also you can tell that they are not reading any script, so it's
natural. They use quite a few voice overs
in Apple Recruitment video, we can hear cheesy and happy music playing in the
background. We can see apple logo in most clips, although they have decided not
to put any websites or any contact numbers or e-mails in the video as everyone
knows what Apple is, so everyone can Google them if they want to contact them.
Apple Recruitment video is for all races as we've seen people from different
countries for example Asian and Spanish woman talking about their jobs, target
audience is people that are going to work there soon, so target audience is
creative men and women. In Apple Recruitment corporate video there's a lot of
subtitles as like I have mentioned above there is a few people talking in
different languages. Apple Recruitment
video is not for everyone, it's for upper class people as not everyone can
afford apple products and also it's for people that will be working there soon,
for people that are really good at what they do.Apple Video is 4:36, in my
opinion the video is long enough as it gives quite a lot of information, it's
not too long so it doesn't bore people. They use wide shots, mid shots and close
ups mostly, they also use diagrams of product life cycle. When they edited mid
shots they focused on people in the shot, and made sure that the background is
out of focus and blurry, there is a lot of shot of people smiling because their
work makes them happy and they are trying to show that everyone that will work
there will be happy too. In my opinion
it's a bit cheesy how they made everyone laugh/smile to show people that are
going to work there that they're going to love their jobs and that they are
going to be happy and satisfied with it.
Holmefield Vets

Holmefield vets corporate video is quite a poor quality compared to Apple recruitment video, this is most likely due to low budget as they are a small company and they are definitly a smaller company than Apple. In Holmefield vets corporate video they mostly used basic shots, they include mid shots, close ups and a few wide shots which are used at the beginning of their corporate video. The wide shot is of Holmefield vets sign and building and also of vets waiting room. I have also noticed that they have used 2 more shots and they are handleheld shot and panning shot. Holmefield vets video has a background music, they play 2 songs one is more cheesy and happy and the other one is a bit slower and a little bit more serious, this is due to change of subject and mood, as they are talking about something else. They interviewed people working there, they have used shots that show a lot of 'cute and adorable' animals, to make people feel a bit more emotional, as everyone loves animals, it always makes people go 'Awww' when animals show up on screen, personally the video had that exact effect on me. Holmefield vets video gives you the impression that vets is only a female job as all people in the video are women except one man that is on the screen for a very few seconds. All people that work at the Holmefield vets seem to be between 20-50 years old, in my opinion it's a good age range considering people would not trust anyone under 18 as they might not have enough experience, in the video we see that most people are British, white British in fact, there's also an Asian woman in the video so I don't think it really matters what race/ethnicity they are as long as they are experienced and can speak English well. I think that the video is quite successful at introducing people to Holmefield vets as friendly, experienced and helpful. I think that the video is long enough as it's 2:31, in my opinion that is long enough as they have enough time to get their point across, to introduce people to their company, they don't have to have a lot of information in as it's not a video to persuade people to work there so 2:31 is perfectly fine and it doesn't get boring. I'd like to add that there is a lot of shots of people talking about their jobs and smiling/laughing as they obviously enjoy and love their job, this makes them look more friendly and makes people feel like it's a great place to take their favourite animals to. At the end of the video we can see contact details such as their telephone numbers, their official website and e-mail. The pase of the video is not too fast and not too slow.
London Business School
First of all the London Business School corporate video starts with a montage of different people from many different backgrounds/nationalities, after a while we see a man introducing us to what we are going to find out and see in this particular corporate video. Like i mentioned before we can see that there is a lot of people that are different ethnicities, for example white, black and Asian. London Business School are looking for post graduate people, so they are looking for people that are aged between 30-45. In my opinion this corporate video is terrible as it's way too long, they don't get their point across fast enough and it bores people after a short while, I personally think that 10 minutes for a corporate video is way to long, 5 minutes is long enough to get a point across therefore i think London Business School should make their video shorter. Some of the interviews are very long in London Business School's video and it absolutely bores people watching the same person talk for ages, and there's not many cutaways during some of the interviews so you constantly have to look and listen to the same person. The background music is not cheesy but kind of happy and at quick pace, then the music changes ,it slows down a little and sounds interesting and kind of serious. The editors made a lot of short cuts at the start so it goes with the music as the pace is really quick, although everytime someone starts talking in the video the pace slows down. Like i said the music sounds serious at one point, and it sounds very digital and computer generated, personally i didn't think it was the best but i did prefer it more than the happy music which was a little bit irritating at the start. They use a lot of mid shots, close ups, and wide shots in their corporate video. The video seems to be very serious and not very friendly, it all seems to be like it's a very serious place to work. You see a lot of dull colours in this videos especially black, grey etc. we see a few black tittles, which i do think is fair enough as it's a serious, business video. Editor had to do quite a lot of work on this video as it's a very long corporate video, he made it fast pace and quite agressive i would say but if you think about it that's what the business world is like, it's not pleasant, it's difficult, serious and quite agressive too. They have used quite a few shots of London during the day and night to highlight the location of the school. I don't think there's enough shots of people smiling, i mean they obviously wanted to make the video quite serious but it would help if they made it look a bit more friendly too. Other than that i think the video was very boring as it was way too long.
